Eight believed injured as police say likely the driver lost control
A taxi has ploughed into a crowd of world cup fans in central Moscow, injuring eight.
Mexico supporters were among those hurt during the incident in Ilyinka street on Saturday, reports the Interfax news agency in the Russian capital.
Police say they believe the driver – who had a Kyrgyzstan licence – lost control of the vehicle. He has since been arrested, reports a Moscow traffic authority on social media.
Pictures posted on social media showed multiple pander cars and ambulances attending the incident.
One appeared to show the yellow taxi with the bumper ripped off, next to a fallen road sign.
