Nick Krygios disqualified after throwing chair onto court at Italian Open

Nick Kyrgios has defaulted from the Italian Open after the combustible Australian hurled a chair onto the court during his second-round match against Casper Ruud.

Kyrgios had levelled the match at one set apiece but was given a game penalty early on in the third set, reportedly for swearing.

The incident began as Kyrgios appeared to question an official before suddenly smashing his racquet into the ground and kicking something on the floor.

The 24-year-old then hurled a chair onto the court, sat down and said: “F*****g retard bro. Why are you walking across court as I am serving?

“I don’t want to play. Why would I play? I am giving 100 per cent to deal with f*****g idiots like him, I’m done. I’m f*****g done. I’m f*****g done with it. I don’t give a f**k.”

He then packed his bag and walked out of the arena with the umpire left with no choice but to default the Australian.

Kyrgios will now forfeit all his prize money from the event and will likely face a major offence investigation while he already boasts a questionable code of conduct.
